THE 2028 RI CPM EI APPLICATION PERIOD OPENS: OCTOBER 1, 2024 - MAY 1, 2025
Background: RI Urban Perinatal Education Center, and the RI Department of Health have collaborated to start a hybrid learning Certified Professional Midwifery (CPM) Satellite Program in RI.
The program starts September 2025.
Application Period: The period for the application is October 1st, 2024 to May 1st 2025
The Commonsense School of Midwifery (CCSM) will be providing all curriculum and educational programming related to the cohort. The primary mandate of the RI Certified Professional Midwifery Equity Initiative Program is to be a fellowship that supplies selected students full tuition, a stipend, and a collaborative student cohort experience for students accepted through CCSM. RI CPM Equity Initiative Program will let applicants know their application decision status by the latest by mid May 2025. Please note, we have limited spots (12 maximum) available in the fellowship program which will inform our prioritization of applicants this year.
How to Apply: To apply for potential acceptance into our fellowship program, you must complete the following requirements:
1. Fill out Questionnaire form for RI CPM Equity Initiative: CPM Questionnaire Form
2. Apply directly for acceptance into CCSM. Please note in your application, your interest in the RI CPM EI program which provides scholarships, mentorship and assistance.
3. After acceptance into the CCSM program, your application will be forwarded for the CPM EI initiative team to review and provide you with further info and applicable scholarship application forms.

CPM EI Scholarship Eligibility:
1. Residency Requirement: This application is only open to three-year long or more residents of RI, MA, and CT.
2. Applicants must meet the requirements and have gained full acceptance to the CCSM Program
a. Please note a pre-requisite requirement to gaining CCSM full acceptance that
must be satisfied:
1.) Applicants' commitment to traveling and clinical placement
2.) Approved CCSM local preceptorship before applying

Please note an inability to commit to either a CCSM-assigned preceptorship or a securement of an approved preceptorship will heavily inform your potential acceptance into the fellowship program.
